Although these models of behaviour are proper to the medieval pe-
riod, they remain in the early years of the Renaissance appearing
as an expression of the virtues of the patron. The programs were
accompanied by family heraldry, so that its significance was even
greater, turning the cover into a family emblem, distinguishing the
most representative space of the residence.
On a separate issue, after scientific analysis
30
it has been found that
an oil technique has been used, specifically a mix of linseed oil and
pigments.
As for the repaints, we can classify them into two types. The first one
would include those found on small areas to hide losses or changes.
These have been applied in a very small percentage. The most visible
one is a flashy green colour in the central coffer. In the second, with
an area of almost the entire surface, there is a burnt umber shade
acrylic resin so opaque in some sections that hides the underlying
motifs
31
. We also found glitter in the
ataujerado
pane used in the new
replacements and in some occasional loss of the gilt layer. All these
repaints correspond to a modern period, not only because of its spe-
cific composition, but also due to the fact that they are contempo-
rary to the placement of the alfarje in its new location.
