Cenador de Carlos V – Carlos V Pavilion
Este pabellón se construye en honor del matrimonio del Emperador Carlos V e Isabel de Portugal. Tiene su origen en una qubba musulmana y mezcla el estilo tradicional mudé- jar con el renacentista.
La sala es cuadrada con una fuente en el medio y un magnífico artesonado, una ventana en cada lado, facilita la corriente de aire para refrescar el interior. En la solería del pabe- llón está representado el trazo del antiguo laberinto.
La cerámica que decora el pabellón es del siglo XVI, del taller de los hermanos Polido. El autor del Cenador es Juan Hernández.
This pavilion was built in honor of the marriage between the Emperor Charles V and Isabella of Portugal. It has its origin in a muslim Qubba and it mixes the traditional mudejar style with the renaissance style.
The room is square with a fountain in the middle and a magnißcent coffered ceiling, a window on each side, facilitates the ßow of air to cool the inside. In the tiles of the Pavilion the stroke of the ancient labyrinth is represented.
The pottery that decorates the Pavilion is of the sixteenth century, from the Polido brothers atelier.
The author of the Pavilion is Juan Hernandez.
