Capilla del Palacio Gótico – Chapel of the Gothic Palace
El oratorio conserva las bóvedas de crucería medievales y el zócalo renacentista añadido en siglo XVI. El retablo que encabeza la estancia es de la “Virgen de la Antigua” de Diego de Castillejo, copia del original que está situado en la capilla del mismo nombre de la Ca- tedral de Sevilla.
Es una de las representaciones pictóricas más antiguas de la ciudad, ya que fue pintada sobre el muro de la Mezquita cuando ésta se convierte al culto católico en el siglo XIII. Otras pinturas son: “La Virgen de los Reyes entre San Hermenegildo y San Fernando”, realizada por Domingo Martinez en 1742, y “La Inmaculada con donante y Cristo como sacerdote”.
The oratory retains the vaults and the medieval renaissance socket added in the sixteenth century. The altarpiece that leads the stay is of the “Virgen de la Antigua" of Diego de Castillejo, copy of the original that is located in the chapel of the same name of the Cathedral of Seville.
It is one of the oldest pictorial representations of the city, since it was painted on the wall of the Mosque when it is converted to the catholic religion in the thirteenth century.
Other paintings are: “The Virgen de los Reyes between San Hermenegildo and San Fernando", conducted by Domingo Martinez in 1742, and “The Immaculate with donor and Christ as a priest".
